Raclette- A French and Swiss cheese that is eaten melted. The cheese (and things eaten with it, like potatoes, corn, tomatoes, pickles and meat) is melted in under a hotplate in a Raclette grill and then scraped onto one's plate to be eaten. This causes the meal to be long and, therefore, generally eaten in social situations and during the holidays.
