In English Dachgeschoss means attic floor. It is an attic space made into a living space, often an apartment or extra room on a house (in America, we call it a finished attic). With their slanted walls and low ceilings, the Dachgeschoss is by far the coziest place in the house. Wouldn't you just love to have a room there? It would feel like you had your own little hideaway--your own magic cave--all the time. I have collected some lovely pictures of adorable Dachgeschoss rooms and flats. Don't they look inviting?

I definitely love the feel of attic rooms! I would love one someday.
